News Reporter Delivers Traffic Report With 15 Beyoncé References

Beyoncé

Beyoncé, the former member of ‘90s girl group Destiny’s Child and successful solo artist, has won 22 Grammy Awards and 63 nominations. She and her husband rapper Jay-Z are parents to 6-year-old Blue Ivy Carter, who has already become an Instagram celebrity and casual art collector. She attends events with her parents and media outlets enjoy keeping an eye on her interactions with the power couple.

To an unknowing viewer, NBC traffic reporter, Sheila Watko’s traffic update might have sounded like any other. To a Beyoncé fan, however, this was a report to remember.

Watko managed to work in fifteen references to Beyoncé songs in the report lasting less than a minute and a half. Some titles might have been a bit easier, like “Formation” or “Say My Name.” Others were quite clever of Watko, such as “Beautiful Liar” or “Bills Bills Bills.” The channel’s two co-anchors, Erin Coleman and Keith Jones, even managed to throw in a few additional references after her report, bringing the grand total to seventeen.

The report wasn’t only popular with viewers and online supporters. Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s mom, even saw the segment. She shared a video of Watko on her Instagram with the caption “This Soo cool !! All Song tittles.” I’m glad to see even Beyoncé’s mom enjoyed the report as much as I did.

Beyoncé’s latest album “Renaissance,” was released last Friday. The album is Queen Bey’s first solo album in six years and has been long awaited by fans.

Watko had been planning the report since July 29th, the date of the release, but was unable to deliver until August 2nd. I think we can all relate to Watko’s excitement for a new Beyoncé release. As much as I already love my girl Bey, she has definitely made me want to jam out a bit extra to “Renaissance” today.

“Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world,” Beyoncé said of the album in an Instagram post. "It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving. My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration."

Aimee’s Beyonce Album Release Party

Y'all!! We had such an amazing time celebrating Beyonce's newest album. Her first studio album in 6 years. 'Renaissance pt1' was leaked two days before the release date but her true fans waited until Friday! It was worth the wait!

My girlfriends  (who are HUGE Beyonce fans) and I decided to have an album release party as soon as we found out about the album! Our menu and attire were all Beyonce-themed. It was so much fun. We ate, drank, sang, and danced... and believe it or not I believe only one of us was 'under the weather' the next day! Not to mention any names (cough cough Cynthia)

On the menu, we had: (pics below)

BEYhive cake - made by my friend Cynthia! AMAZING! (Beyonce fans are part of the Beyhive)

Red Lobster - "I take his ___ to Red Lobster" (A line from Beyonce's song, Formation)

Lemondrop Martinis - Lemonade (The title of Beyonce's last album)

Spicy Watermelon Tequila cocktails - (From my favorite Beyonce song Drunk In Love)

Champagne - "Boy, your lips taste like a night of champagne" (A line from Beyonce's song, Love On Top)

Hot Sauce In My Bag Hot Wings - "I got hot sauce in my bag" (A line from Beyonce's song, Formation)

Charcuterie Surfboard - (From Beyonce's song, Drunk In Love)
