Active-Duty? These Las Vegas Museums Are Free This Summer

There is truly not enough we can do for those who choose to serve our country. Active-duty military personnel and their families risk everything to protect us and there aren't enough words we can say or actions we can show to thank them. That isn't stopping several Las Vegas area museums from trying with free tickets.

Several museums have teamed up with an initiative through the National Endowment For The Arts called Blue Star Museums to offer all active-duty personnel and their families free entry.

There are several museums offering free entry to those currently serving their country and up to five family members. They include:

There are several other museums throughout Nevada and America that are taking part. You can get the full list on their website.

Armed Forces Day is Saturday, May 20th. From then until Labor Day, Monday September 4th, all active duty service members and up to five family members will receive free admission to the museum.

You are eligible for free entry as long as you are currently serving in...

That active duty member and their family members get free entry and must show proper ID, which includes any of the following:

While the Blue Star Museums initiative only covers active duty personnel, they suggest you contact the museums directly as many often offer up specials for veterans and retirees.

It's been a long week of shows on Aimee+Shawn, but not nearly as long as Shawn's dad's drive from Las Vegas back to Boston.

We checked in with Donny T who made it back to Boston safely, but unfortunately was met with a stinky surprise when he walked into his house. Yuck.

Aimee is absolutely baffled by her friend who found it necessary to ask her husband about changing her hair color. She wanted to go from blonde to brunette and thought she should check with the hubs first. Aimee would never... but Shawn appreciates the courtesy.

Shawn was driving out of his subdivision over the weekend and he was met with the most glorious sight: a large metal horse statue - headless - being schlepped on the back of a pickup truck. Whose horse is this and what are they doing with it?! Shawn needs to know.

There is a terrible story in Utah about a woman who wrote a children's book about handling grief after her husband died. Well... she's been arrested for his murder and Aimee's eyes lit up like it was Christmas. Her true crime obsession has really gotten bad.

Shawn wanted to get ahead of the game for Mother's Day and took one of his sons out to go shopping. A quick trip to go to CVS and grab some cards and... wait. How did Shawn find the one CVS in the world that had no greeting cards. None whatsoever. He also went to a KFC without chicken one time. What is life!?

Speaking of mothers, Happy Mother's Day to the moms out there! Aimee celebrated her Mother's Day (observed) doing whatever she wanted. She earned it.

It was just your normal trip to the potty when Shawn's youngest said something that made mom blush...

Last week, the Instagram couple that Aimee had been following like a hawk broke up out of nowhere. Now she is getting to the bottom of it.

It turns out the A's are now looking at the Tropicana for their ballpark?! Shawn is convinced they aren't coming at this point.

The traffic will suck. Blowing up the historic property that has its own street sucks. The whole thing just sucks.

Aimee finds she is overcharged quite often at the grocery store, but the amount she is overcharged is never enough to go back in and fix it.

There are some things you just expect to be... so when they aren't you're shocked if not offended. Shawn was getting ahead on his Mother's Day shopping and he was hit with a shock.

She helped a friend move out... now she's helping a friend move back in... and she's got quite the relationship with her movers.

After seeing the trouble her ex's son is getting into... Aimee's thankful she's married to Patrick.

Ah the Las Vegas Strip... home to the Bellagio Fountains... and some random dude's "fountain"...

Shawn had to get a check-up this week... and the awkward conversations were in full force.

If you've ever parked on the street at Town Square, you've seen the QR codes imploring you to pay to park on the street. Has anyone EVER done this? Do you get a ticket if you don't?

Sure some moms want to hang out with their kids and do all the mom things. But don't feel bad if that is exactly what you don't want!

Here's the premise... Mother's Day is Sunday... but you just got tickets to a REALLY important playoff game. What do you do? What would mom do if you chose the game over her?

Young Aimee was head-hunted for Abercrombie & Fitch and she almost became a model. Almost. Then her life entered a tailspin.

Sure, we had mothers. But TV show moms were the ones that really raised us. We raise our remotes to them!

It was a week of road trips, rejection and really toxic relationships on Aimee+Shawn!

Shawn is getting tired just looking at the school spirit days schedule for his son's Kindergarten. Themed days a-plenty, a full closet of props needed, and while he doesn't get Colin ready for school, it is still overwhelming to him. Turns out, a lot of parents feel that way.

Aimee's son told her about a phenomenon that is supposedly happening all over CCSD schools. Supposedly kids are putting their phones above the stalls, taking pictures of students poppin' a squat, and putting them on social. We aren't sure, but we think that might be incredibly illegal.

Shawn's dad is on a cross-country road trip from Las Vegas back to his home near Boston, Massachusetts. He drives to Nevada because he wants a car for his 3-4 month visit (plus he's petrified of flying). But at 77 years old, the drive is taxing on him. So we called him every day to make sure he was doing alright. By the end of the week, we think he might need a psychological evaluation.

A couple set a whole bunch of fires along the Las Vegas Strip, and the guy in the relationship blamed her. Why'd she do it? He says she lights fires when they argue. Wow. That sounds healthy. But when we think about it we know plenty of people in tumultuous relationships that shouldn't be together anymore.

Both Aimee and Shawn aren't necessarily feeling the love from their kiddos this week. Shawn's kids want to be with mom more. Aimee walked through the front door and almost got booed by her 4 year old Roman. Cmon! Give us a break!

Shawn's son Mario put up a stink when Shawn took him for a drive. He wanted to stay with mom. That, inevitably, made Shawn feel bad.

We are so thankful for the people that help us raise our kids! Because we know if it was just us, we'd be in trouble.

Well, his first day on the road led to his debit card getting skimmed and him sleeping in the car. So, not so great.

The statute of limitations is over so he can finally tell his story.

Another decent night's sleep... and now we are talking about the things he did as a parent back in the day that would absolutely get him sent to prison today.
