They surpassed every other earning in its history. Not too shabby couple of days.
According to Adobe Analytics, Amazon's Prime Day sale generated an insane $12.7 billion in sales by online shoppers in the US alone! That's an increase of 6.1% from last year's Prime Day Sale, which ended up being $11.9 billion... Yes, you're reading that correctly. Billion with a "B." But it doesn't even stop there... Amazon's internal report says that they sold 375 million items! That's a 75 million item increase from last year. Absolutely insane.
Amazon's strong sales are not only because they sell pretty much everything and anything but also because its marketing strategy is great. Amazon is always great when it comes to marketing and it was no different for the Prime Day Sale. This year's sale was super heavily promoted and broadcast on all major marketing platforms for weeks before it happened. I know we were definitely talking about it here at VGS.
