Vel has been a supporter and friend to the station since our inception in mid-2022. Always calling from the road trying to win tickets while she delivered GrubHub around the valley. Always a ray of light in our day. Aimee+Shawn's daily "Pre-Show Vibe Check" segment? She'll almost always have a song in the running. Every event, from our birthday party to live broadcasts, she is always there.
We love Vel more than a listener. She's a friend to Aimee, Shawn, Sammi and the entire 102.7 VGS family.
On Saturday, Vel had a medical emergency take place that has our station and those who know and love her best shaken. She was rushed to the emergency room. Unfortunately despite hospital staff's best efforts and support from many of you who answered her family's call for prayer, Vel has passed away.

If you listen to 102.7 VGS and Aimee+Shawn, you have most certainly heard her or seen her at station events. We love being a positive part of your day when we turn on the mic throughout the day. But the reality is our listeners are a positive part of our day. We love getting to interact with you and getting to know you. Vel is one of those parts of our day that make this job so worth it and it has been an honor getting to know her. Our hearts go out to her family during this incredibly difficult time.
