There was a Zoo in Las Vegas years ago that was shut down on September 20th, 2013 after there were many complaints about animal cruelty and the USDA came in and shut them down.
Sea Quest is an interactive aquarium located in Las Vegas inside the Boulevard Mall off Maryland Parkway. It has found itself under controversy in Las Vegas because of allegations of animal cruelty and mistreatment. Calls for its closure have gotten stronger as some concerned past employees, locals, and animal rights activists demand change and even justice for the creatures stuck within the walls of Sea Quest.
BMG Las Vegas via Aimee ThomasSea Quest appears to be a family-friendly place to go and honestly, we have always had a good time there but I also understand why people want change for the animals and creatures in there. One of the primary concerns raised against Sea Quest according to KTNV Las Vegas is the alleged inadequate living conditions given to the animals at the facility. People have complained about cramped enclosures, insufficient water quality, and improper care protocols, all of those things contribute to the physical and psychological distress the poor animals and creatures have to endure.
The push for closure has gained momentum as public awareness grows.
While Sea Quest maintains that it is committed to the welfare of its animals and complies with all relevant regulations, the evidence presented by critics casts doubt on these claims. The controversy surrounding the aquarium underscores broader debates surrounding the ethics of keeping animals in captivity for human entertainment.
As the debate rages on, in Las Vegas about the controversy and the future of Sea Quest hangs in the question... Will authorities raise the calls for closure, or will the aquarium continue to operate despite more people getting more upset? Only time will tell.
