Mary J. Blige is set to start her Las Vegas residency this May. Called “My Life, My Story: The Las Vegas Residency,” the performances will take place at Dolby Live at Park MGM. It kicks off on Friday, May 1, 2026, with ten shows running through July.

Blige announced the residency on “Today” on January 12. “That’s major for me. Vegas is the big time,” Blige said on Today.  "Creating a show like this has been something I’ve always wanted to do. It’s a chance to get my fans together from all over – different cities, states, and countries – to experience something together." The shows will start at 8 p.m., combining music and storytelling in a theatrical way.

"It’s going to be done more theatrical," Blige shared. She added, "It’s still going to have the music, it’s still going to be fun — but it’s a story so there’s going to be actors and actresses. So the music tells the story. I have so many songs I haven’t performed yet for my fans."

Specific dates for her residency are May 1, May 2, May 6, May 8, May 9, July 10, July 11, July 15, July 17, and July 18. Pre-sale begins Wednesday, January 14, at 10 a.m. PT and goes until Thursday, January 15, at 10 p.m. General ticket sales start through Ticketmaster on Friday, January 16, at 10 a.m.

Blige has received widespread praise. She has won nine Grammy Awards and received two Academy Award nominations. Her notable projects include acting in “Mudbound” and the song “Mighty River.” Her Las Vegas debut promises unique experiences for fans.

Las Vegas has a rich heritage of hosting music legends. Icons like Nat “King” Cole and Ella Fitzgerald set the stage. Performances like Elvis Presley’s 1969 residency ignited the demand for live music. Celine Dion’s stint at Caesars Palace from 2003 to 2007 was a huge hit, followed by stars like Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars.

Blige has performed in Las Vegas before. Her concerts on April 19, 2008, were at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and on October 17, 2008, at the Pearl Concert Theater. This upcoming residency is a landmark for Blige, offering her a chance to create a special experience on the Las Vegas Strip.

BET described the shows as “not a nostalgia act. This is a victory lap.” Interested Citi/AAdvantage members have early access through City Entertainment starting January 13, with more presales through MGM Rewards, Live Nation, and Ticketmaster on January 15.
