In Las Vegas, a Bad Bunny-themed photo pop-up is supporting a DACA-focused group. Visitors can step into a space filled with colors reminiscent of a Puerto Rican home. This lively casita offers photo opportunities until March 1 at 1800 Industrial Rd., near the Arts District.
The idea started with a Bad Bunny concert at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico. The casita has a pink exterior, flat gray roof, and distinctive furniture style. Event planner Markos Valerio and local photographers teamed up on this project. Profits from photo sessions will help fund Dream Big Nevada, aiding DACA recipients.
"Anything related to the Latino community hits close to home for me. It fills me with pride and joy to contribute intentionally," Valerio shared in a conversation with FOX5 Vegas.
The casita features traditional Caribbean furniture, reflecting Puerto Rican "party de marquesina" gatherings. Both photographers and visitors appreciate its authenticity.
Photographer Lulu Flores noted, "These chairs signify family and togetherness." For Valerio, these traditional chairs evoke personal memories. "Ama, our grandma, would have us sit with these chairs in her front yard," he recalled.
Michelle McAdams, a participant, expressed unity and support, saying, "Even though I’m not Latino, supporting my friends and family is crucial."
The design highlights Puerto Rican strength and heritage. Initially, it served as a secondary stage for Bad Bunny's residency. This pop-up enhances the same themes inspired by Bunny’s message.
Previous installations in Miami and Queens inspire this event in Las Vegas. These pop-ups embody a cultural spirit and provide room for creative expression.
"Persevere and approach everything with love," Valerio advised, echoing the pop-up’s core message.
