The Golden Knights are on their way to the second Stanley Cup Final appearance and are hungry for their first championship. They are taking on the Florida Panthers. These two teams are among the 12 NHL franchises that have never won the Cup.
One team is about to break that streak and we hope it's the Knights.
The Vegas Golden Knights are a newer franchise, having only entered the league in 2017. Since year one, they have been a force to be reckoned with, reaching the Cup Final in their first year. (except last year we don't talk about last year) The Knights are such a well-rounded team led by captain Mark Stone that plays a fast, aggressive game. They have been dominant in the playoffs. They have a deep roster, with contributions from players like William Karlsson, Jack Eichel and Shea Theodore, and solid goaltending. We are so hype to kick off the Stanley Cup Finals here in Las Vegas on Saturday at T-mobile Arena. The puck drops at 5 pm.
Both Vegas and Florida have a lot going for them, but what will give one team the edge over the other? It could come down to a few key factors. For Florida, they'll need to continue to play the dominant, disciplined hockey that has gotten them this far. They can't afford to take unnecessary penalties or make sloppy mistakes, as the Golden Knights are a team that can capitalize quickly. They'll also need to rely on their depth, as Vegas is a team that can roll four lines and wear opponents down. For the Knights, their speed and physicality will be key. They'll need to use their quick, aggressive style of play to disrupt Florida's offensive attack and create scoring chances for themselves. And they'll need to keep up their strong penalty kill, because the Panthers have a dangerous power play.
So who will break their Stanley Cup drought first, the Knights or the Panthers? The finals are going to be so good! Whether you're a diehard fan of one of these teams or just love watching great playoff hockey, this is going to be an epic showdown!
